Saudi Arabia has unveiled its largest and most ambitious operational plan for the 1446 AH (2025) Hajj season, aiming to elevate the spiritual, logistical, and digital experience for millions of Muslims who will gather at Islam’s holiest sites.
What’s New This Year?
The plan, led by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Holy Mosque, introduces 120 initiatives and 10 smart tracks, all designed to enhance services, improve communication, and embrace digital transformation during the pilgrimage.
For the first time at this scale, the plan includes:
- 50 scientific and intellectual programs
- 2,000+ trained Saudi personnel to support pilgrims on the ground
- Seven specialized enrichment tracks, aimed at sharing the moderate message of Islam in multiple languages
Focus on Digital Transformation
Digital innovation is at the heart of this year’s strategy. Worshippers will benefit from multilingual, interactive platforms that convey the values of Hajj through artificial intelligence, smart technologies, and mobile access. These tools are intended to guide, inform, and connect pilgrims more effectively than ever before.
A Spiritual and Global Vision
In his launch address, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al Sudais, President of Religious Affairs, emphasized that all efforts are being mobilized to offer a “distinguished pilgrimage experience.” He highlighted that the plan is rooted in Islamic values, with a special focus on digital inclusion, spiritual depth, and global outreach.
Three Pillars of the 2025 Plan
- Honoring Time: Emphasizing the sacred timing of Hajj and its spiritual symbolism
- Enhancing the Status of the Holy Sites: Ensuring physical and logistical excellence across all locations
- Glorifying the Holiness of Place: Promoting a respectful, spiritually rich atmosphere for worshippers
Why It Matters
This comprehensive strategy reflects Saudi Arabia’s evolving vision for Hajj: one that combines tradition with technology, aiming to not only improve on-the-ground operations but also broadcast the moderate, inclusive message of Islam to a global audience.
With millions expected to arrive for the 2025 pilgrimage, this plan positions Saudi Arabia as a leader in modern religious event management—focused on quality, innovation, and global engagement.
