Abu Dhabi’s population grew by 7.5% in 2024, reaching 4,135,985 residents, according to new data from the Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD). This marks a 51% increase over the past decade, highlighting the emirate’s rising appeal as a global hub for talent, investment, and business.
The strong demographic growth coincides with robust economic performance, including a 3.8% GDP rise last year to AED 1.2 trillion. Notably, non-oil sectors drove this expansion, growing by 6.2% and contributing 54.7% to the total economic output.
SCAD Chairman Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al Kuttab attributed the growth to strategic government policies, infrastructure development, and a focus on innovation. “Abu Dhabi is not just attracting talent—it’s redefining what it means to be a global career destination,” he said.
