LEGOLAND® Dubai Resort participated in a collaborative community initiative at Dubai International Airport (DXB), an event led by Dubai Police and involving multiple airport and airline entities. The program aimed to provide a unique experience for children from the Al Etihad Charity Foundation, culminating in a surprise from the resort.
The initiative saw DXB’s Terminal 3 host 33 children aged 4 to 15 from the Al Etihad Charity Foundation, representing various nationalities including the UAE, Egypt, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Jordan, and Yemen. The children were guided through an immersive tour of Terminal 3’s departure and arrival processes, covering immigration, security checkpoints, airport lounges, Duty Free, and Dubai Customs.
The program concluded with LEGOLAND’s mascots, the LEGOLAND Boy and Girl, greeting the children at Dubai Customs. Each child received a specially curated LEGO® gift set, aligning with the resort’s mission to promote happiness through play.
Partners in the initiative included Dubai Police, Dubai Airports, Dubai Customs, Dubai Immigration, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Emirates Airline, FlyDubai, and Dubai Duty Free. The event underscores the UAE’s “Year of Community” theme, emphasizing unity, compassion, and shared responsibility through collaborative outreach and inclusive experiences.
Tim Harrison-Jones, General Manager of LEGOLAND Dubai Resort, commented on the participation, stating, “At LEGOLAND® Dubai Resort, we believe every child deserves moments of joy, wonder and play. Being part of this initiative alongside such impactful organisations was an honour.” He added that observing the children’s reactions reinforced the importance of community engagement in fostering a “stronger, more connected society.”
