Bank Julius Baer has announced the appointment of Regis Burger as Chief Executive Officer of Julius Baer (Middle East) Ltd, in addition to his current role as Head of Middle East & Africa. The appointment is subject to regulatory approval by the Dubai Financial Services Authority.

This leadership consolidation follows the departure of Alireza Valizadeh, who has left the bank to pursue opportunities outside the organization. The new structure is designed to ensure continuity and support the firm’s growth strategy across the region.

Burger brings nearly 26 years of financial services experience to the role, including 19 years with Julius Baer. He has previously served as CEO of Julius Baer (Middle East) Ltd and Head of Business Management for the Region Emerging Markets, with postings in Lausanne, Zurich, Geneva, Singapore, and Dubai.

Dubai represents a strategic hub for Julius Baer’s global operations. The firm was the first wealth manager established in the Dubai International Financial Centre, holding license number 1, and celebrated its 20th anniversary in the emirate last year.

Rahul Malhotra, Head of Region Emerging Markets at Julius Baer, emphasized Dubai’s importance to the bank’s growth strategy, noting that the city’s regulatory framework and position as a global financial center provide a solid foundation for sustainable expansion in the Middle East.
