Chad Seeks Long-Term Emirati Investments To Drive 2030 Plan

Tahir Hamid Nguilin, Minister of Finance, Budget, Economy, Planning and International Cooperation of Chad, stated that his country is pursuing sustainable and long-term Emirati investments as part of the National Development Plan – Chad Connection 2030.

Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the UAE-Chad Trade and Investment Forum, which commenced today in Abu Dhabi, he highlighted the strong and promising historical ties between Chad and the UAE, built on decades of fruitful cooperation and mutual understanding.

He added that the UAE is a key strategic partner for Chad, given its forward-looking development vision and extensive expertise in trade, investment, infrastructure, renewable energy, and other sectors.

Nguilin explained that under the National Development Plan, Chad is rolling out a comprehensive sustainable development programme aimed at diversifying the national economy and enhancing sector competitiveness, with planned investments totaling approximately US$30 billion.

He emphasized that the plan creates new opportunities for collaboration with countries worldwide, noting the UAE’s pivotal role in supporting these initiatives through long-term, sustainable investments that stimulate economic growth, generate employment, and foster balanced development.

Nguilin also underscored the significance of the UAE-Chad Trade and Investment Forum in promoting diverse and constructive partnerships across multiple sectors.

He noted that the forum’s agenda is broad and focuses on advancing cooperation in key sectors, including mineral resources, energy, agricultural and food value chains, infrastructure, and logistics services.
