Anunay Sood, the 32-year-old Dubai‑based travel influencer and photographer, died in Las Vegas on November 4. On Tuesday, U.S. authorities confirmed the cause of his death as an accidental overdose involving fentanyl and alcohol.
Sood, known for his cinematic travel content and motivational storytelling with 1.4 million Instagram followers, was in the Nevada city for an automotive event when he was found unresponsive in his hotel room. Emergency responders attempted life‑saving measures, including multiple doses of Narcan, but he was pronounced dead shortly after.
TMZ reported, citing the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, that witnesses at the scene suspected his death “could be from a possible overdose.”
Anunay’s family confirmed his passing on his official social channels, asking for privacy and respect during their grief, while fans, friends, and fellow creators worldwide have expressed deep shock and condolences. His girlfriend, Shivani Parihar, shared an emotional tribute, describing him as her “safe place” and “everything.”
The statement said: “It is with deep sadness that we share the news of our beloved Anunay Sood’s passing. We kindly ask for your understanding and privacy as we navigate this difficult time. We humbly request you to avoid gathering near personal property.”
Sood’s legacy includes travel storytelling from around 46 countries, collaborations with global tourism boards, and recognition on Forbes India’s Top 100 Digital Stars list for three consecutive years, underscoring the impact he had on the digital travel community.
Sood is survived by his two sisters, both of whom live in Dubai.
