IBM has introduced IBM Enterprise Advantage, a new consultative service based on assets that are aimed at assisting enterprises in establishing their own internal AI platform at scale within a brief period, governing, and operating it with the use of proven tools, framework and expertise.

The service allows organizations to rearchitect workflows, add AI to existing systems, and deploy agentic apps without modifying their current cloud providers, AI models, or core infrastructure.

Enterprise Advantage also supports multi-cloud and hybrid environments such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, IBM WatsonX, and open- and closed-source models, enabling enterprises to optimize current technology investments.

IBM Enterprise Advantage combines the industry and technical skills of IBM Consulting with technology developed based on IBM Consulting Advantage, the in-house AI-based delivery platform used by IBM.

Consulting Advantage already facilitates an expanding market of industry-specific AI agents and applications and has been applied in over 150 client engagements. IBM reports that the platform has enhanced consultant productivity by up to 50 percent, enabling the acceleration of client outcomes.

IBM is now applying the same internal, battle-tested strategy to clients with the introduction of Enterprise Advantage, which allows organizations to create their own AI platform and manage the increasingly complex AI ecosystem with greater confidence, governance, and velocity.

The service has been created to cater to enterprises at various levels of AI maturity. The global learning firm Pearson is developing a personalized AI-driven application based on Enterprise Advantage to create a tailored solution that incorporates human experience and agentic assistants to guide daily decisions and operational processes.

In a separate implementation, Enterprise Advantage was deployed by a manufacturing enterprise to pursue its generative AI strategy through the identification of high-value use cases, testing of specific prototypes, and alignment of leadership around a platform-first strategy that can be scaled.

The organization is currently implementing AI assistants in various technologies in a guarded, controlled setting, establishing a base on which it can ultimately spread the use of generative AI throughout the organization.

In response to the launch, Lula Mohanty, Managing Partner – MEA, IBM Consulting, said, “AI has the potential to transform every business, but turning that potential into real, scalable value remains a challenge for many organizations. At IBM, we’ve navigated this journey ourselves—using AI to modernize our operations and achieve measurable results. Enterprise Advantage extends that proven approach to our clients, combining human expertise, secure AI assets, and intelligent digital workers, so businesses can confidently scale AI and drive meaningful, lasting impact.”

IBM Enterprise Advantage represents the wider IBM plan to assist enterprises in overcoming AI experimentation and initiating a regulated, production-scale implementation of AI, as a core part of operations and not a technological project.
