The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has launched the “Safe Ramadan” campaign in line with the Holy Month of Ramadan, reflecting its proactive approach to raising community awareness on safety and prevention, and promoting safe behaviours to protect lives and property throughout the blessed month.

The campaign emphasizes intensifying community awareness efforts, conducting field inspection drives, and training the public on effective incident response. It includes sharing preventive guidance on home safety especially during Iftar and Suhoor meal preparations encouraging the safe use of electrical appliances and gas cylinders, and reducing the risk of domestic fires and accidents.

Additionally, the campaign highlights the importance of following safety regulations in Ramadan tents and gathering areas, ensuring firefighting systems and smoke detectors are functional. Tent operators are urged to comply with the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code, provide all necessary technical requirements, and ensure the availability of fire extinguishers and certified electrical installations per approved standards.

The Authority also called on families to strengthen kitchen safety due to increased use of cooking appliances during Ramadan. Recommendations include cleaning kitchen exhaust systems of grease buildup, having portable fire extinguishers and smoke detectors ready, and knowing how to use them in emergencies. The campaign also warned of oil fires during frying and electrical fires from improper load management or non-compliant extension cords.

The Authority emphasized that the “Safe Ramadan” campaign demonstrates its ongoing commitment to preventive awareness, fostering a culture of safety as a shared community responsibility, and supporting Abu Dhabi’s vision of a safe and sustainable society.
