ADNOC Logistics and Services plc said Monday it has taken early delivery of Arada, a liquefied natural gas carrier, as the company expands its fleet to support growing energy transport demand.

The vessel, with a capacity of 175,000 cubic metres, was built by Jiangnan Shipyard in China and is the fifth of six LNG carriers ordered by ADNOC L&S under its newbuild programme.

The company said the vessel has already commenced operations following delivery.

The early handover reflects progress in ADNOC’s broader strategy to strengthen its shipping and logistics capabilities, as global demand for LNG transportation continues to rise.

The Arada delivery was marked at the shipyard in China in the presence of Keith Mander, Manager of Marine Projects at ADNOC Logistics & Services, along with crew members and representatives from Jiangnan Shipyard.

ADNOC L&S has been steadily expanding its fleet in recent years, positioning itself to play a larger role in global energy supply chains, particularly in liquefied natural gas, which is increasingly viewed as a transition fuel in the global energy mix.

The addition of Arada brings the company closer to completing its current LNG carrier order programme, as it continues to scale up capacity to meet long-term contractual commitments and evolving market demand.
