The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department has announced that it has planted 5,465 trees across the emirate in 2025. The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to expand green spaces in line with Ajman Vision 2030.

Dr Eng. Khalid Maeen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, said the significant increase in tree numbers highlights the Department’s strong commitment to environmental protection and reducing ecological impacts. He noted that the work has been carried out in accordance with approved environmental frameworks and the emirate’s long-term strategic objectives.

Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, Director of the Agriculture and Public Parks Department, stated that recent projects have focused on strengthening plant diversity. This has included the planting of native species such as Ghaf and Sidr trees, alongside fruit-bearing and ornamental varieties.

Al Muhairi emphasised that the tree-planting efforts were implemented in line with the highest environmental standards to ensure sustainability, provide natural shade, and enhance the urban climate.

He also highlighted the continued success of the “Local Tree Numbering” initiative, which has recorded a 400% increase in documented trees, improving the monitoring and management of the emirate’s natural assets.
