The Sharjah Sports Council has opened registration for the fifth edition of the Al Hamriyah Aquathlon, scheduled for Sunday, September 7, at Al Hamriyah Beach. The event is part of the Council’s ongoing mission to promote community sports and encourage active, healthy lifestyles.

Organised in collaboration with the UAE Triathlon Federation and several partner entities, the race is expected to attract around 270 male and female participants from different age groups.

Following the success of past editions, the Al Hamriyah Aquathlon continues to garner strong interest from both aquathlon enthusiasts and general sports lovers. The event also aligns with the Council’s vision of strengthening Sharjah’s reputation as a destination for both sports and tourism by hosting competitions across various cities.

Recognised by the International Triathlon Union, the aquathlon features a combination of swimming and running. This year’s competition includes three race categories: Junior Swim and Run (150m swim and 1.5km run), Super Sprint (350m swim and 2.5km run), and Sprint (750m swim and 5km run).

The Junior category will start at 6:15 am, followed by the Sprint and Super Sprint races at 6:20 am.

Winners will be honoured at 7:30 am, with the top finishers in each category receiving gold, silver, and bronze medals designed to reflect the theme of the race.
