Apple is gearing up to launch its first smart glasses by the end of next year, according to a report from Bloomberg News on Thursday. The move marks the tech giant’s latest effort to diversify its product offerings and increase interest in its AI-driven devices.

The report, citing sources familiar with the matter, says Apple will begin mass-producing prototypes of the smart glasses with international suppliers later this year. This new venture into wearable face technology follows the modest reception of the Vision Pro headset, which struggled to gain traction due to its high price and limited AI capabilities.

Apple’s upcoming smart glasses will enter a market already seeing consumer interest, particularly with Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, which have grown in popularity.

In a related development, Apple has reportedly scrapped plans to develop a smartwatch featuring a built-in camera capable of analyzing its environment. The company had been targeting a 2027 release for the advanced Apple Watch, but the project has now been discontinued, the report added.
