World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka successfully defended her US Open women’s singles crown, defeating American eighth seed Amanda Anisimova 6-3, 7-6(3) in Saturday’s final at Flushing Meadows.
The Belarusian underlined her dominance on hardcourts with a fourth career Grand Slam title, becoming the first woman since Serena Williams (2012–2014) to win back-to-back US Open championships.
Sabalenka, who has not missed a hardcourt major final since 2022, showcased her trademark power game but relied on discipline to edge out her opponent. She limited her unforced errors to 15, compared with 29 from Anisimova, in a contest defined by heavy hitting and booming serves.
The win further cements Sabalenka’s status as the modern queen of hardcourt tennis, reinforcing her consistency at the sport’s highest level.
