Asian Paints has introduced CureAssure, the world’s first internal curing concrete additive, aimed at revolutionising concrete curing while significantly reducing water usage. Designed for performance in extreme conditions, this patented solution is expected to help save up to eight billion litres of water annually in the UAE.

“With CureAssure, we’re not just launching a product; we’re redefining a foundational step in construction. This innovation reflects our commitment to sustainable solutions that work in the real world,” said Mr. Joseph Eapen, CEO of Asian Paints.

Enhancing Curing Efficiency and Durability

Traditional concrete curing methods often struggle with weather, site limitations, and manual processes, which can affect the strength and durability of the final structure. CureAssure embeds hydration directly within the concrete mix, ensuring even internal curing and eliminating the need for external methods.

This internal curing technology reduces plastic shrinkage and cracking, and improves overall performance, making concrete more reliable across varying site conditions.

“Developing CureAssure meant rethinking curing from the inside out,” said Mr. Amit DasGupta, Chief Senior Manager – Technology, AP Global. “Rather than treating symptoms on the surface, we focused on solving the root cause, by embedding water availability directly where it’s needed. The result is a more robust, reliable concrete structure, regardless of the environment it’s placed in.”

Certified and Standards-Aligned

CureAssure is approved by Dubai Municipality and validated by ICC-ES. It aligns with global specifications including ACI, ASTM, and EN standards, and is compatible with Portland cement, pozzolanic materials, and a wide range of admixtures. The product contains no hazardous substances and follows standard construction safety protocols.

Aligned with the UAE’s Sustainability Vision

CureAssure supports the UAE Water Security Strategy 2036 by reducing the need for desalinated water during the construction process. Its adoption could significantly cut water use in construction, potentially saving enough water to supply 450,000 households for a month or irrigate thousands of acres of land.

Beyond water conservation, the product contributes to low-carbon, zero-waste construction practices by reducing manpower, transport, and emissions related to curing activities.

Extending a Legacy of Innovation in the Middle East

Asian Paints, with over 80 years of expertise in coatings and construction technology and a portfolio of over 150 patents, is expanding its presence in the GCC. The launch of CureAssure highlights its growing commitment to sustainable construction in the region.
