Pakistan and Azerbaijan have signed a landmark agreement involving a $2 billion investment from Azerbaijan in Pakistan’s economic sector, a move expected to elevate bilateral trade and economic cooperation significantly.
The agreement was formalized in the presence of Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a meeting in Khankandi. The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, who served as signatories.
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), the agreement marks a historic step in strengthening economic ties and reflects growing confidence in Pakistan’s investment landscape.
