Ford Motor on Tuesday declared that it is now growing its line of the Bronco SUV to encompass a new model, which the auto company is boasting to have an amalgamation of off-road capabilities combined with street performance.
The 2027 Ford Bronco RTR will be the 8th model in the line that will be under a high-performance Raptor model. It appears like the regular Bronco but with certain design modifications and off-road performance accessories, which it also shares with the Raptor.
Ford officials declined to comment on the price of the vehicle but referred to it as a “more attainable” performance model, or a gateway, to the Raptor. It is anticipated to be priced between the $51,475 Bronco Heritage Edition and the about 80,000 Bronco Raptor.
The entry-level Bronco has a price of approximately 40,000. Ed Krenz, Bronco Chief Program Engineer, said that “The difference is the access point, the accessibility. This very much can be seen as a step into the Raptor family.”
Ford claimed that the Bronco RTR will have a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that is currently rated at 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque in the Ford Mustang. This is in consideration of 418 horsepower and 440 foot-pounds of torque on the 3.0-liter V6 engine in the Bronco Raptor.
Ford announced that the Bronco RTR is available to order in October with sales beginning in January 2027. The second RTR model is the vehicle, which is the partnership with the racer Vaughn Gittin Jr. of the brand “Ready to Rock.”
The former was one of the models of the Ford Mustang that the company unveiled last year. They were both in support of the Detroit Auto Show.
During an event, Gittin stated, “Bronco RTR is literally another dream come true for myself, my team; the opportunity to build something for enthusiasts that is attainable, affordable, and has the looks, the capability, that only RTR and Ford can do together.”
Thus, the new model is a continuation of the Ford strategy of riding on its most recognizable brands, including Bronco, Mustang, and F-150.
