Capgemini Raises Revenue Outlook To 2-2.5% Following 2.9% Q3 Revenue Gain

Capgemini, a French IT consulting firm, reported that in the third quarter its revenue growth was 2.9 percent organic, and it also revised its growth outlook on Tuesday, attributing good performance in North America and strong demand for AI solutions.

The company increased its revenue growth expectations to 2 percent and 2.5 percent in constant currency, on its part having reduced it to -1 percent and +1 percent at the end of the second quarter.

It also reduced its projections of its annual operating margin to between 13.3 percent and 13.4 percent, as compared to 13.3percent to 13.5 percent earlier.

Capgemini, an expanding cloud-to-artificial intelligence and data services provider serving numerous industries, had third-quarter revenue of 5.39 billion euros and quarterly order bookings of 5.16 billion euros.

At the end of September, its total headcount stood at 354,700, an increase of 4.7 percent over the previous year.

Capgemini, which offers cloud to artificial intelligence, and data services to numerous industries, said that in the third quarter of 2019, it earned 5.39 billion euros ($6.29 billion) and had order bookings totaling 5.16 billion euros.

Capgemini CEO Aiman Ezzat stated to journalists that “North America is now the group’s locomotive, accounting for 28 per cent of global revenue.” However, Capgemini’s quarterly revenue expanded by 7 percent in the region.

Ezzat said, “This performance is driven by financial services, telecoms, media and technology, and industry, particularly in the life sciences.”

He added, “We saw an increase in demand even before the acquisition. That’s why we did it. And today, we have already started to sign some nice contracts and have a very promising contract in the pipeline to be finalized by the end of the year.”

By the end of September, the number of the company’s headcount increased by 4.7 percent to 354,700 employees compared to the previous year.
