The Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi (DCD) participated in Liwa Village as part of the Liwa International Festival through its Medeem Initiative and the Emirati Family Growth Programme “Numou”.

Through its participation, the Department organised a series of interactive activities aimed at promoting marriage partnership, strengthening family bonds, and reinforcing family formation and stability.

Located within Liwa Village in the Al Dhafra Region, and held as part of the Liwa International Festival organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), DCD’s installations welcomed visitors daily from 4:00pm to 10:00pm until 4 January 2026.

DCD presented two immersive installations highlighting the core messages of Medeem and Numou. The first, titled “The Different Roles of You – Medeem”, featured a circular mirror design that placed visitors at the centre of the experience. As participants stood within the multiple mirror display, their reflections multiplied, symbolising the many dimensions of their role as partners in marriage.

This installation illustrated how love, commitment, and dedication between partners contribute to building a secure and nurturing relationship, fostering stability, emotional well-being, and the growth of a shared future. The experience reinforced Medeem’s message that a strong marital partnership is the foundation of a healthy family and a lasting legacy.

The second installation, “The Story We Grow – Numou”, was designed as a pod-based experience presenting engaging videos tailored specifically for mothers, fathers, older siblings, and caregivers. Through short, emotionally resonant messages, the content highlighted how each individual’s actions, words, and presence influence a child’s development, sense of security, and overall growth, celebrating the essential role every family member plays in creating a thriving household.

Dr. Mona Al Mansoori, Acting Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority and Executive Director of the “Medeem” Initiative, stated, “Our participation at Liwa Village reiterated our commitment to engaging with families and couples through experiences embodying the values of Medeem and Numou. These installations offered opportunities of reflection and invited visitors to celebrate marriage as a partnership, honoring the contribution of each family member to a stable, loving home. As we prepare to welcome the Year of Family 2026, we invited all visitors to Liwa Village to immerse themselves in these experiences and explore how Medeem and Numou equip them with the support and resources they need as they build their future together.”
