The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has increased its EV Green Charger network in Dubai to more than 1,860 charging spots throughout Dubai, which promotes the emirate in accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles and sustainable mobility.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, stated that the network has charging stations that are licensed by DEWA in partnership with the government and the private sector. As of mid-January 2026, there were 23,600 users registered in the EV Green Charger initiative.

Following its launch in 2014, DEWA has supplied more than 55,200 megawatt hours (MWh), through its electricity drive, enough to power over 276 million kilometres of electric vehicle travel, highlighting the scale of Dubai’s transition toward cleaner transport.

Al Tayer said, “We are working to realise the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to consolidate the emirate’s position as a global leader in the transition to a green economy and sustainable mobility, and make it one of the world’s most future-ready cities. We continue our efforts to strengthen green mobility infrastructure in support of the UAE Net Zero 2050 Strategy and the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030, which encourage the use of eco-friendly transport in line with the emirate’s goals related to sustainability, air quality, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The expansion of charging points under our EV Green Charger initiative supports the growing number of electric vehicles and provides users with a seamless and fast charging experience, further enhancing Dubai’s position as a global destination to live, work, and visit.”

DEWA now offers four types of EV chargers in its network: ultra-fast chargers, fast chargers, public chargers, and wall-box chargers. Customers will be able to find the electric station using DEWA’s smart app and 14 other integrated electronic platforms.

Customers may open a Green Charger account through the DEWA portal, smart app, or through the interactive voice response service at the Customer Care Centre, where charging points can be accessed within an hour of registering a vehicle.

DEWA also offers the service under the ‘Guest Mode’, which ensures that a wider range of visitors and non-registered users can also enjoy the service.
