DMCC has introduced The Plaza at Uptown Dubai, a 21,000 square meter open-air venue positioned as a central anchor within the district’s masterplan and designed to conduct large business and community events.
The new area can serve 4,000 guests and is designed to host corporate events, conferences, concerts, and mega activations. The Plaza stands in the center of Uptown Dubai and links Uptown Tower with the district’s broad commercial and residential components, reinforcing integration across the mixed-use development.
The venue is designed with advanced staging systems, lighting, and digital display infrastructure designed to support programming throughout the year-round and quick-turn event transitions.
DMCC stated that the addition enhances the ability of Uptown Dubai to bring industries of the world to it in terms of trade, finance, and technology as the district passes to the next stage of growth.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, executive chairman and chief executive officer of DMCC, said, “The Plaza introduces a scale and capability that positions Uptown Dubai as a premier venue for major international events, as well as everyday community moments. As we continue to advance the Uptown Dubai masterplan, The Plaza will play a central role in activating the district and creating a strong sense of place, supporting Dubai’s vision as one of the world’s best cities to live, work, and visit.”
The opening coincides with Uptown Dubai continuing with its wider development. There are two commercial towers, which are 23 and 17 storeys in development, that will supply a total of 62,000 square meters of Grade A commercial and retail area.
The district will provide an overall gross floor area of 538,000 square meters, with 232,000 square meters of Grade A office facility by the time it’s complete.
As the construction goes on, Uptown Dubai is establishing itself as an integrated business center that is geared towards supporting long-term corporate development, global talent attraction, and strengthening of Dubai as a regional trading, innovation, and investment center.
