Travel disruptions are taking place for flights from Dubai International Airport (DXB) due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Several flights to and from Pakistan and northern India have been canceled or delayed, affecting travelers worldwide.
Emirates has canceled flights to Lahore, Sialkot, Islamabad, and Peshawar, while flydubai has suspended services to Multan, Lahore, Sialkot, and Faisalabad. More so, flights to New Delhi and Peshawar have been delayed as well.
Abu Dhabi International Airport has also been impacted, with Etihad Airways suspending flights to Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has canceled flights to Lahore, and Air Arabia Abu Dhabi has suspended services to Multan.
Apart from this, Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended all flights to Pakistan following the closure of Pakistani airspace. The airline is closely monitoring the situation and has advised passengers to check for updates.
Indian carriers SpiceJet and IndiGo have issued advisories, urging passengers to check flight statuses due to airport closures in northern India, including Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar.
India launches air strikes on Pakistan, Pakistan-administered Kashmir
In the early hours of May 7, 2025, India launched “Operation Sindoor,” a series of missile strikes targeting nine locations across Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The operation was a direct response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The counterstrike targeted nine locations – Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bahawalpur, Rawalakot, Chakswari, Bhimber, Neelum Valley, Jhelum, and Chakwal.
