The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, operating under Dubai Chambers, has partnered with the Ministry of Foreign Trade to host a workshop highlighting the growing role of Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPAs) in boosting the UAE’s services export sector.

The session brought together Business Groups under the chamber umbrella, particularly those focused on service-related industries, to discuss how CEPAs can enhance international competitiveness and enable local firms to capitalise on expanded market access.

The workshop provided detailed insights into how service-oriented sectors – ranging from business, engineering, and education services to financial, tourism, and healthcare offerings – can tap into global opportunities created through the UAE’s expanding CEPA network. These trade deals offer local businesses strategic access to international markets, reduced customs duties, clearer regulatory frameworks, and streamlined customs procedures.

Participants also reviewed key CEPA provisions and how they support the UAE’s strategic vision to position itself as a leading hub for the export of both goods and services.

During her opening remarks, Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, stated: “We are committed to supporting the private sector and raising awareness around key aspects of the business environment to help enhance global competitiveness. CEPAs offer tangible benefits for the business community, and today’s session is an important part of our ongoing cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Trade to ensure the private sector can capitalise on the diverse opportunities these agreements present.”

The workshop further emphasized the crucial role that Business Groups under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce continue to play in supporting policy development and legislative enhancements, advocating for industry interests, and facilitating dialogue between public and private stakeholders.

As the UAE accelerates efforts to diversify its export portfolio beyond hydrocarbons, the integration of CEPAs into its broader trade strategy is expected to create new pathways for service-led growth and economic resilience.
