Dubai Chambers today convened a roundtable with a Canadian business delegation featuring representatives from 19 companies.

Organised in collaboration with the Consulate General of Canada in Dubai and Inovia Capital, the meeting highlighted the strengths of Dubai’s digital economy ecosystem and the wide-ranging opportunities it provides for Canadian enterprises in fast-growing, future-oriented sectors.

The session brought together 52 participants from both business communities. The Canadian delegation covered a diverse range of industries, including AI, cybersecurity, satellite communications, quantum computing, health technology, research, data analytics, and venture capital.

Discussions explored ways to deepen collaboration between Canadian firms and Dubai-based companies across key sectors, with participants emphasising the scope for leveraging complementary expertise to drive innovation and unlock new partnership opportunities in advanced technologies.

“The growing economic relations between Dubai and Canada form a strategic foundation for advancing bilateral cooperation in priority areas, particularly within future-facing sectors and advanced technologies. Dubai is continuing to strengthen its position as a global hub and attracting Canadian companies seeking to expand internationally, supported by a pro-business environment and a world-class ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship,” Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, said.

The number of Canadian companies registered as active members of Dubai Chamber of Commerce recorded annual growth of around 30% during 2024. In the first half of 2025 alone, 535 new Canadian firms joined, bringing the total to 4,434 by the end of June. Canada ranked tenth among non-UAE countries for new registrations during the same period.

In a further boost to bilateral ties, Dubai International Chamber – one of the three chambers under the Dubai Chambers umbrella – opened a new international office in Toronto in June 2025, its first in North America, to expand trade and investment flows between the two markets.

Earlier this year, Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy also led a promotional roadshow across Toronto, Mississauga, and Vancouver to promote opportunities at Expand North Star 2025, the world’s largest startup and investor gathering, scheduled to take place from 12–15 October at Dubai Harbour.
