The European Tour Group has announced that the 2025 Sustainability Awards will be hosted in the UAE on 12 November, during the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, the season-ending event of the Race to Dubai.
The hybrid-format ceremony will celebrate sustainability achievements across the golf ecosystem, with awards presented in five categories: Venues, Staging, Operations, Tech and Innovation, and Catering. Winners will be selected from Europe, the Middle East, and the rest of the world.
Submissions and Eligibility
Entries are open until 2 October 2025, with eligible projects required to have been delivered between 1 September 2024 and 1 October 2025. The judging panel includes sustainability and golf operations experts, alongside representatives from the GEO Sustainable Golf Foundation.
Nine tournaments in the Middle East — seven of them held in the UAE — will be eligible to compete, underscoring Dubai’s growing influence as a hub for both elite golf and sustainable sporting innovation.
Driving Sustainability in Sport
The initiative forms part of the European Tour Group’s Green Drive programme, which pledges to cut greenhouse gas emissions from tournaments and operations by 50% by 2030, with the ultimate goal of achieving net-zero carbon by 2040.
The Sustainability Awards shine a spotlight on how sports can innovate and reduce their environmental footprint, while Dubai’s hosting role further aligns with the UAE’s broader sustainability agenda, especially in the run-up to global climate milestones.
