Dubai International Chamber, part of Dubai Chambers, has opened a new representative office in Stockholm to enhance ties between the business communities of Dubai and Sweden.
The office was inaugurated at a ceremony in Stockholm attended by Benjamin Dousa, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Sweden; Ghasaq Shaheen, UAE Ambassador to Sweden; and Salem AlShamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers.
This marks the chamber’s first office in the Nordic region and is part of the ‘Dubai Global’ initiative, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and boosting trade and investment opportunities between Dubai and Sweden.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, commented, “The opening of our Swedish office marks a significant step in our global outreach and reinforces our strategic focus on the Nordic region. Sweden’s dynamic and innovative business landscape presents immense opportunities for collaboration. The office will serve as a gateway to attract Swedish companies to Dubai and promote the investment opportunities available in Dubai.”
Trade between Dubai and Sweden is expanding steadily. In 2024, non-oil bilateral trade reached AED 3.9 billion, reflecting 5.3% annual growth. The rising interest among Swedish businesses is evident from membership growth: by mid-2025, Dubai Chamber had 940 active Swedish members, including 127 new members in H1.
Dubai International Chamber’s global network of offices is key to attracting businesses, investments, and talent to Dubai. Spanning five continents, these offices act as strategic platforms to promote Dubai as a business hub, provide local support to companies entering the emirate, and foster partnerships that strengthen Dubai’s position as a global trade and investment center.
