Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that both – the Dubai Metro and Tram will run nonstop for over 43 hours, starting December 31. This initiative aims to ease traffic during the city’s New Year’s Eve celebrations and provide smooth transportation options for residents and tourists planning to celebrate in the region.
The Dubai Metro will operate continuously from 5.00 AM on December 31 until the end of January 1, ensuring that travelers can rely on this mode of transport to get to their destinations in time. Meanwhile, the Dubai Tram will run from 6.00 AM on December 31 until 1.00 AM on January 2. These extended hours will allow people to commute seamlessly.
In addition to the extended services on the Metro and Tram, the RTA will deploy an additional fleet of 1,400 buses, all of which will be available for public use free of charge. This will provide ample transport options for those traveling across the city, especially in high-demand areas near popular celebration spots.
More so, the RTA has announced a significant reduction in public bus fares in Business Bay. Starting immediately, commuters can travel on the Bus on Demand service for just AED2 per trip. The New Year celebrations are in full swing; these essential measures are put in place to ensure that everyone can plan their festivities with ease.
