During the New Year’s Eve 2025 celebrations, Dubai saw a total of 2.5 million passengers using public transport, shared mobility, and taxis, reflecting a 9.3% rise from the previous year’s 2.29 million. This surge in ridership highlights the city’s growing use of diverse transportation options during major events.

Across its Red and Green lines, the Dubai Metro served 1.13 million riders, while the Tram accommodated 55,391 passengers. Public buses carried 465,779, and marine transport ferried 80,066 commuters. E-hailing services and shared transport vehicles saw significant usage, with 195,651 and 1,238 riders, respectively. Taxis also contributed heavily, transporting 571,098 passengers throughout the day. This surge in transport use highlights the city’s efficient infrastructure for large events.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that passenger movement to and from New Year’s Eve celebration venues was seamless and safe, thanks to a comprehensive plan developed in collaboration with relevant entities in Dubai.
