Dubai has strengthened its position as a global aviation powerhouse with the Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH) officially inaugurating Tim Aerospace’s new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility—now among the largest independent hangars in the region.

Unveiled at Dubai South on Wednesday, the state-of-the-art hangar spans the maximum permitted design dimensions and can simultaneously accommodate up to 12 narrow-body aircraft or five wide-body jets of any type, excluding the A380. The facility’s scale is designed to meet the accelerating demand for high-quality, cost-efficient MRO services from airlines operating across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and South Asia.

The opening ceremony was attended by HE Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South; Tahnoon Saif, CEO of MBRAH; and Timor Shah Shahab, Founder of Tim Aerospace, alongside senior executives from both entities and representatives from leading global airlines—reflecting the industry’s strong endorsement of the milestone.

Speaking at the inauguration, Tahnoon Saif said the launch of the new facility reinforces Dubai’s global leadership in aviation infrastructure and talent.
“The inauguration of Tim Aerospace’s new facility further strengthens Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub and a preferred destination for leading aerospace companies. At MBRAH, our mission is to create an integrated ecosystem that supports innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth across the aviation value chain.”

Tim Aerospace’s new centre will provide a full spectrum of base maintenance services for both passenger and cargo fleets—positioning the company as a rising competitor in the global MRO market at a time when airlines are expanding capacity and restoring networks.

Founder Timor Shah Shahab highlighted the strategic importance of Dubai South in the company’s expansion plans.
“This milestone marks a new chapter in our journey to expand Tim Aerospace’s footprint and service capabilities in the Middle East. Our new facility at Dubai South is designed to set new standards in efficiency, safety, and reliability, while catering to the increasing demand for world-class MRO services.”

The Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub has evolved into a premier free zone destination for top global aviation companies, including leading airlines, private jet operators, MRO specialists, and the aerospace supply chain. With maintenance centres, training institutes, and advanced engineering infrastructure, the hub continues to play a critical role in supporting Dubai’s long-term vision of becoming a world-leading aviation and aerospace ecosystem.
