Dubai Police swiftly came to the aid of a motorist whose car’s cruise control malfunctioned, leaving the driver unable to stop the vehicle. The motorist, driving along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, called the emergency helpline for immediate assistance.
Traffic patrols quickly responded, arriving at the scene within minutes. Maj-Gen Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, acting assistant commandant for operations affairs, explained, “The vehicle was located past the Expo Bridge, and due to the high-speed danger it posed, patrols rapidly secured the area around it.”
Police activated warning signs to alert other drivers and provided reassurance to the panicked motorist. One patrol vehicle positioned itself in front of the runaway car and gradually brought it to a stop, while other patrols managed traffic behind to ensure the safety of everyone on the road.
This quick and decisive response highlights the professionalism of Dubai Police in handling emergencies, ensuring both the driver and other motorists remained unharmed.
