Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a revised fare structure for taxis booked through e-hail smart apps, raising the minimum fare from Dh12 to Dh13 and implementing new peak-hour charges and booking fees.
The updated rates aim to regulate demand during peak hours and align with operational costs across the week. Here’s a breakdown of the new fare system to help commuters understand what to expect:
Key Changes in Fare Structure:
- Minimum Fare:
- Raised from Dh12 to Dh13 for rides booked via smart apps.
- Base Flagfall (Start Fare):
- Dh5 during regular hours (no change).
- Dh5.5 during night hours (10pm onwards).
- Peak-Hour Surcharges:
- Dh7.5 added during designated peak hours.
- Dh4 added during off-peak hours.
- Dh4.5 added for night-time rides.
Peak Hours by Day:
Monday to Thursday:
- Morning Peak: 8:00am – 9:59am
- Evening Peak: 4:00pm – 7:59pm
- Night: 10:00pm – 11:59pm
Charges:
- Peak: Dh5 flagfall + Dh7.5 surcharge
- Off-peak: Dh5 flagfall + Dh4 surcharge
- Night: Dh5.5 flagfall + Dh4.5 surcharge
Friday:
- Morning Peak: 8:00am – 9:59am
- Evening Peak: 4:00pm – 9:59pm
- Late Night: 10:00pm – 11:59pm

- Peak: Dh5 flagfall + Dh7.5 surcharge
- Late night: Dh5.5 flagfall + Dh4.5 surcharge
Saturday and Sunday (Weekend):
- Evening Peak: 4:00pm – 9:59pm

- These changes are only applicable to e-hailing via smart apps, not to street-hailing or traditional taxi services.
