The Dubai Sports Council has announced that the second edition of the Dubai T100 Triathlon Weekend will return from 13th to 16th November 2025, with this year’s event offering broader participation through new race formats aimed at amateurs and corporate teams.

Organised in partnership with the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO), the 2025 event will build on the success of its inaugural edition by opening registrations to non-professional athletes for the 100km challenge (2km swim, 80km bike, 18km run) and a Sprint distance format (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run). The addition of these categories signals a clear effort to expand participation and foster a wider triathlon culture in the UAE.

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, noted that the event aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, aiming to bolster Dubai’s stature as a hub for global sporting events. He highlighted that the 2024 edition received significant attention from both elite athletes and international audiences, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading sports tourism destination.

Commenting on the event’s expansion, Eisa Sharif, Director of Sports Events at Dubai Sports Council, said, “We are working closely with the PTO to broaden participation across all categories. This year, we are introducing a Schools Event and a Corporate Relay, further promoting healthy lifestyles and active community involvement.”

Sharif also highlighted the international caliber of the event, which, in its first edition, saw Olympic-level participation and crowned the first-ever T100 World Champions — Marten Van Riel from Belgium and Taylor Knibb from the United States.

From the PTO’s side, CEO Sam Renouf described the Dubai leg as a standout event in the global triathlon calendar. “The 2024 Dubai T100 was a huge success and has become a bucket-list race on the T100 World Tour. In 2025, we aim to build on that momentum by making the experience more inclusive, welcoming amateur athletes and corporate teams for a true festival of endurance sport,” he said.

The Dubai event is part of the 2025 T100 World Tour, which has already seen successful editions in Singapore, San Francisco, and Vancouver. The next race is scheduled for London in August, with Dubai expected to once again draw top global athletes and triathlon enthusiasts alike.

As Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a global sports and wellness destination, the expanded format of the T100 Triathlon promises to attract a new wave of participation and boost community engagement across the emirate.
