The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai announced the provision of free Wi-Fi services at 29 bus and marine transport stations. In cooperation with E& (Etisalat), it was provided at (17) public bus stations and (12) other marine transport stations, in an initiative that aims to make public transport users happy in the emirate, by allowing them to connect to the internet through their smartphones, tablets and laptops while on the move.
Khalid Al Awadhi, Director of Transportation Systems at the Public Transport Agency at the Roads and Transport Authority, noted that this initiative falls within the framework of the Authority’s continuous work on digital transformation in all its services provided to the public from various segments of society, in line with the ambitious directions of the State in this field.
“This initiative also comes within the framework of the Authority’s keenness to add more enjoyment and benefit to the daily movement of the public on public buses and marine transport means, and to translate the Emirate’s vision to become the smartest and happiest city in the world,” he remarked.
Al Awadhi mentioned that the service will undergo ongoing and thorough evaluation for potential expansion and improvement, in collaboration with E&, to ensure the delivery of the best Wi-Fi experience for bus and marine transport passengers in Dubai.
