Emirates has announced the expansion of its Courier Express service into Australia, extending the cross-border shipping solution to four major cities—Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth—via 70 weekly flights. The move comes just months after the service’s global debut, underscoring the airline’s commitment to reimagining international delivery logistics.

Leveraging its robust passenger flight network, Emirates Courier Express is positioned to offer one of the fastest door-to-door delivery solutions from the Middle East and Europe to Australia. The service is tailored for small parcels, urgent e-commerce orders, and lightweight business shipments, catering to the growing demand of Australian consumers and businesses.

“Since the early test phase of Emirates Courier Express, we knew Australia would be a key market,” said Dennis Lister, Senior Vice President of Product and Innovation at Emirates SkyCargo. “Logistically challenging and historically underserved, businesses and end consumers will feel the benefits of our direct connectivity, high-frequency flight schedules, and flexible, scalable solution.”

The expansion is viewed as a timely response to the evolving global e-commerce landscape. While Australia’s domestic online shopping continues to rise—with inbound small parcel volumes up 45% in the past two years—the country remains underpenetrated in cross-border eCommerce.

According to the International Trade Administration, only 6% of international shoppers purchase from Australian sellers, largely due to long delivery times, high logistics costs, and inconsistent service. Emirates aims to address these pain points through its integrated logistics offering, connecting Australia with global markets efficiently.

The Courier Express solution promises rapid transit, end-to-end tracking, and customs clearance support, making it an attractive option for e-commerce platforms, SMEs, and logistics providers seeking to bridge the last-mile delivery gap in Australia.

As part of Emirates SkyCargo’s broader strategy, the expansion to Australia reflects a focus on scalable, high-reliability solutions in emerging e-commerce corridors. With robust global infrastructure and tech-enabled logistics, Emirates Courier Express is poised to strengthen its position in the competitive international delivery landscape.
