Emirates announced on Monday that it would install Starlink Wi-Fi in its entire in-service fleet, starting with Boeing 777 in November 2025 and finishing the process by mid-2027.
The free, high-speed service provides ground-quality internet service at cruising altitude, solidifying its long-held promise of industry-leading in-flight connectivity.
Emirates will equip all its in-service fleet with Starlink in-service fleet, which will include 232 aircraft over the next two years.
The airline has already fitted its initial aircraft with Starlink on A6-EPF, the Boeing 777-300ER currently on display at the Dubai Airshow.
President of Emirates Airlines, Sir Tim Clark, said that “Partnering with Starlink is another defining moment in our continuous commitment to ensuring our customers ‘fly better’. We’re introducing the world’s fastest Wi-Fi, elevating what passengers can expect from in-flight connectivity, like seamless productivity, real-time communication with loved ones, and uninterrupted connection to their digital lives. But that’s just one piece of the transformation happening across our fleet.”
The first Emirates commercial passenger flight using Starlink will take off right after the Airshow when A6-EPF returns to service, starting a fast-tracked fleet-wide implementation.
The airline plans to equip around 14 planes each month with Starlink, starting to install the Airbus A380 fleet in February 2026.
The airline will also equip both Boeing 777 aircraft with two antennae, and three antennas on each Airbus A380, which will be an industry first and will guarantee the carrier the best in terms of connectivity, capacity, and coverage across all cabin classes, and will result better customer experience.
Emirates will also roll out Live TV over Starlink, first on personal devices and later on seatback screens, starting in late December 2025.
All Emirates customers will have access to the Starlink Wi-Fi service on the Starlink-equipped planes, in all cabins, and access will be free and only requires a one-click operation without any paid subscription or special Skywards membership.
Sir Tim Clark stated that “Starlink is being installed in tandem with the most ambitious cabin refurbishment program in aviation, including brand new Premium Economy cabins, an enhanced Business Class, refreshed First Class, expanded and upgraded entertainment system technologies, and now, industry-leading connectivity.”
Starlink is the most recent addition to the Emirates onboard experience that already has over 6,500 entertainment channels, the A380 Onboard Lounge, and First-Class Shower Spa.
However, the deployment also demonstrates the scale of the Emirates’s almost 220 aircraft retrofit program.
As of today, it has launched 76 fully refurbished aircraft in service with Premium Economy, reworked Business Class, renewed First Class suites, and premium finishes throughout.
VP of Starlink Business Operations, SpaceX, Chad Gibbs added that “With Starlink onboard your Emirates flight, you’ll be able to stream, game, and have seamless video calls, just as you can do on the ground. We’re excited to transform Emirates’ travel experience and support the rapid installation of Starlink while maintaining focus on delivering overall quality of service.”
