Emirates has announced plans to recruit more than 1,500 pilots over the next two years, with over 550 set to be hired in 2025 alone, as part of its broader growth strategy. The announcement was made on World Pilots’ Day (1 May 2025), as the Dubai-based airline celebrated its current flight crew and reiterated its ambitions to expand both its fleet and global route network.

The airline, which currently employs around 4,600 pilots, is actively recruiting across four key tracks: Direct Entry Captains, Accelerated Command (fast-tracked First Officers), Type-Rated First Officers, and Non-Type Rated First Officers.

A major pillar of Emirates’ internal mobility strategy is its Accelerated Command programme, designed to fast-track First Officers into Captain roles. Over 80 pilots are currently enrolled in the programme, which supports the airline’s operational needs on both long-haul and high-frequency routes.

Emirates operates a widebody fleet of 261 aircraft, including Airbus A380s, Boeing 777s, and newly delivered A350s, flying to 148 destinations across six continents. With more aircraft on order and new routes expected, the airline is ramping up recruitment to align with its growth trajectory.

To attract global talent, Emirates is continuing to position Dubai as a premier base for pilots, offering tax-free salaries, profit-sharing, family travel benefits, and access to education and lifestyle perks. Pilots also receive chauffeured transport, gated community housing, and 42 days of annual leave, with flexible roster options.

As part of its pilot recruitment drive, Emirates will conduct a global roadshow visiting over 40 cities in 2025. Following recent stops in Italy, the airline’s recruitment teams are set to visit Norway, Finland, and Sweden in May.

Since 2022, Emirates has added nearly 2,000 new pilots to its workforce. The airline’s current flight crew represents 112 nationalities, reflecting its global reach and commitment to diversity.
