As it expands Abu Dhabi’s direct global connectivity, Etihad Airways has added seven new destinations in the Gulf, Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. New flights to Almaty – Kazakhstan, Baku – Azerbaijan, Bucharest – Romania, Madinah – Saudi Arabia, Tbilisi – Georgia, Tashkent – Uzbekistan, and Yerevan – Armenia, the airlines recently announced. The services for some are slated to begin in March 2026.

But for some, the routes will be operational in November 2025. Moreover, tickets will go on sale over the next few days. With this announcement, the count reaches 27 new routes for the airlines this year. In a statement shared, Etihad Airways chief executive Antonoaldo Neves said, “Our goal is clear, we want to bring more people directly to Abu Dhabi. These new routes connect us to fast-growing, culturally rich regions and will help stimulate demand for tourism and trade in the UAE’s capital.”

This announcement comes only a day after Wizz Air said it will end its operations in Abu Dhabi. They cited operational challenges for the same.

Earlier, Etihad shared, “We’re proud to see continued momentum as we expand our network, welcome more travelers on board, and increase our load factor to 88%. June was another strong month for Etihad, with 1.8 million guests choosing to fly with us – a 16% increase from last year. We launched flights to Prague and Warsaw and resumed popular seasonal routes to Nice, Malaga, Mykonos, Santorini, and Antalya – giving our guests more ways to connect to the world, through Abu Dhabi.”
