Explained: How Salik’s New Drive-Through Fuel Payments Work At Enoc Stations

Dubai’s toll operator Salik is bringing the same seamless tech used at toll gates to gas stations — in a move set to eliminate the need for cards, phones, or cash when paying for fuel. Partnering with Enoc Group, Salik is rolling out automatic, drive-through-style fuel payments at Enoc service stations across the city.

What’s New?

When you pull up to an Enoc station, there’s no need to reach for your wallet. Instead, cameras scan your car’s number plate — and if your vehicle is linked to a Salik e-wallet, the fuel payment is deducted automatically. The technology is the same plate recognition system already in use at Dubai toll gates and at select parking locations like Dubai Mall and Dubai Marina Mall.

How Does It Work?

  • Plate scanning: High-resolution cameras at the pump identify your vehicle.
  • Wallet check: If your plate is linked to a Salik e-wallet, the system processes the fuel payment instantly.
  • No action needed: You don’t need to enter a PIN, open an app, or carry cash — just fuel up and drive off.

The service will be gradually rolled out to over 127 Enoc stations across Dubai.

Why It Matters

Salik CEO Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad says the partnership supports the company’s strategy to “enhance convenience for customers and road users” by offering secure, frictionless transactions. Enoc CEO Saif Humaid Al Falasi called it “a significant step toward improving the customer journey,” blending Salik’s smart tech with Enoc’s vast retail footprint.

Next Steps

The feature is being introduced in phases, with full-scale integration underway. Both companies also plan to run joint awareness campaigns as the rollout expands, and further extensions to Enoc’s wider network could follow.

So the next time you stop for fuel in Dubai, you might just find yourself filling up — and driving off — without ever touching your wallet.
