The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) has officially launched the Nuclear and Radiation Excellence Award, a landmark initiative designed to recognise exceptional individuals and organisations advancing the fields of nuclear and radiation across the UAE.
The award serves as a national platform to celebrate achievements in safety, innovation, leadership, and impactful contributions, reflecting FANR’s ongoing mission to protect the public and the environment. It also aligns with the UAE’s “We the UAE 2031” vision, which emphasises national pride, innovation-driven growth, human capital development in critical sectors, and environmental sustainability.
Open to professionals and organisations across the nuclear, medical, industrial, and academic sectors, the award includes five categories: Best Research, Outstanding Professional, Future Leader, Best Innovation, and Outstanding Project or Initiative. These categories are designed to showcase the breadth of contributions made by individuals and institutions in advancing safety and progress within the sector.
Christer Viktorsson, FANR’s Director-General, said, “The Nuclear and Radiation Excellence Award reflects our commitment to safety, innovation, and leadership. It honours the more than 20,000 professionals driving this vital sector and inspires the next generation to uphold the highest standards in protecting people and the environment.”
FANR has invited all eligible stakeholders across the UAE’s nuclear and radiation ecosystem to submit nominations and participate in this prestigious recognition. Nominations are open until 29 November 2025 via the official award portal. By celebrating excellence, the award aims to elevate industry standards and reinforce the UAE’s global leadership in peaceful nuclear development.
