G42, the leading UAE-based artificial intelligence and advanced technology group, has announced the establishment of its new subsidiary, G42 Europe & UK, with headquarters in London.
This strategic move marks a significant expansion of G42’s global footprint and underscores its commitment to supporting Europe and the UK’s AI transformation. The new entity will focus on delivering customized AI solutions to private sector enterprises, while also partnering with governments and industries to develop critical AI infrastructure throughout the UK and continental Europe.
G42 Europe & UK will be jointly chaired by two seasoned technology leaders: Omar Mir and Marty Edelman.
Omar Mir, an International Board Member at World Wide Technology, brings over two decades of experience in the global technology industry. He has led transformative projects across the UK, Europe, the US, and the Middle East, with a particular focus on 5G, edge computing, cloud computing, and AI.
Marty Edelman, Group General Counsel of G42, plays a pivotal role in overseeing the legal and compliance strategy of G42’s global operations and has been instrumental in shaping the group’s governance framework as it expands internationally.
Commenting on the announcement, Omar Mir said:
“I am honoured to co-chair G42 Europe & UK at this pivotal moment. Our goal is to harness G42’s proven AI expertise and localise it for European and UK businesses – fuelling digital transformation, enhancing competitiveness, and building resilient, sovereign AI infrastructure in partnership with public and private stakeholders.”
Marty Edelman added:
“UK & Europe represents a dynamic market with immense opportunity for AI-driven innovation. By establishing a dedicated hub in London, we strengthen our ability to serve clients with deep regulatory understanding and world-class technology solutions.”
The formation of G42 Europe & UK follows a series of recent milestones in the region, including announcements related to the development of data centres and AI compute clusters in France and Italy, alongside growing interest from several other European nations.
Through this new entity, G42 will deploy its global network of supercomputing nodes, data centres, and cutting-edge AI capabilities to offer secure, scalable end-to-end AI services. These services will include strategic advisory, model development, infrastructure deployment, and managed AI services, tailored to a wide range of sectors such as financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and energy.
G42 Europe & UK will also actively collaborate with national and regional authorities to support data sovereignty initiatives and the rollout of next-generation AI infrastructure.
