G42 has announced significant construction progress on Stargate UAE, a 1-gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure cluster being developed by its subsidiary, Khazna Data Centers, within the 5GW UAE–U.S. AI Campus in Abu Dhabi.
The project, announced in May with global partners including OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco, and SoftBank, has moved rapidly from design to construction under Khazna’s leadership. Work is now focused on delivering the first 200MW of the planned 1GW mega-scale infrastructure on an accelerated timeline, with completion targeted for 2026.
A G42 spokesperson confirmed that construction is progressing steadily, with civil, structural, and architectural work well advanced. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are also being finalized, and key modular components have entered production.
Khazna has adopted a design-to-build approach to ensure seamless transition from concept to execution. The project has completed procurement of all long-lead equipment, with initial deliveries of mechanical systems already received on site, demonstrating robust supply chain performance.
Developed as part of the UAE’s broader strategy to expand national-scale AI infrastructure, the Stargate facility will serve as a cornerstone of the country’s AI ecosystem. It is designed to support G42’s vision of an “Intelligence Grid” and contribute to the development of an AI-native society.
