Gold prices eased on Monday as the dollar strengthened, following a more than 2 percent surge in the previous session.
Spot gold slipped 0.4 percent to $5,020.10 per ounce as of 01:11 GMT, after climbing 2.5 percent in the prior session.
U.S. gold futures for April delivery edged down 0.1 percent to $5,039.50 per ounce.
Spot silver declined 0.6 percent to $76.92 per ounce, after posting a 3 percent gain on Friday.
Spot platinum fell 0.4 percent to $2,054.35 per ounce, while palladium advanced 0.4 percent to $1,692.23.
