Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, best known for portraying Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl and Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has passed away at the age of 39.
According to BBC, Trachtenberg was found deceased in her New York City apartment on Wednesday morning by her mother. When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered the actress unconscious and unresponsive and pronounced her dead. Police in Manhattan stated that there were no signs of foul play and her death is not being treated as suspicious.
The actress’ family confirmed her death in a statement, expressing deep sadness and requesting privacy during this time of loss.
Michelle Trachtenberg made her film debut in Harriet the Spy in 1996 and appeared in several Nickelodeon projects. She went on to land notable roles in films like EuroTrip, 17 Again, and Ice Princess.
