Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the 14th edition of the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) begins tomorrow at Expo Centre Sharjah.
Organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), the two-day forum runs under the theme “Communication for Quality of Life” and will convene 237 speakers from around the world. The programme features over 110 activities across five priorities: food security, public health, education, environmental sustainability, and the green economy.
Across the two days, IGCF 2025 will host 51 sessions, seven keynote talks, and 22 workshops, alongside interactive platforms designed to promote collaboration and policy innovation. The forum will conclude with the announcement of the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA), recognising global excellence in government communication.
Supported by 30 partners, including government bodies, international organisations, universities, and media institutions, IGCF 2025 has positioned itself as a strategic platform for advancing dialogue between policymakers and communities.
Key voices highlighted the forum’s importance: Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to the UAE President and Chancellor of UAEU, noted that the event equips students with skills to address real societal issues. Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Executive Chairman of Sharjah’s Department of Government Relations, called communication a “bridge that connects people and decision-makers.” Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, underscored the role of communication in driving sustainable development, while Edris Al Rafi, CEO of Invest Bank, said trust and collaboration remain central to sustainable growth.
With its strong international participation, IGCF 2025 aims to shape new approaches to government communication, embedding quality of life and sustainability at the core of future policies.
