According to official statements, the two leaders reviewed the positive momentum in India–China relations since their last meeting in Kazan. Discussions focused on maintaining peace and tranquillity along the border areas, a recurring flashpoint in recent years, and building on areas of cooperation underpinned by mutual respect, mutual interest, and mutual sensitivity.
The meeting underscores ongoing efforts by both sides to manage differences and stabilise relations at a time when regional security and economic integration are under renewed focus. It also reflects the importance of India–China dialogue within the framework of multilateral forums such as the SCO, where energy security, counterterrorism, and regional connectivity dominate the agenda.
While challenges remain, particularly along disputed frontier zones, both leaders signalled a willingness to continue high-level engagement and practical cooperation to strengthen one of Asia’s most critical bilateral relationships.
