A devastating fire at a private hospital in Tamil Nadu’s Dindigul district claimed the lives of six individuals and left over 20 others injured on Thursday night. The incident occurred in the Gandhi Nagar area near the Dindigul-Trichy highway.

The blaze prompted a swift emergency response, with more than three fire engines and 10 ambulances dispatched to the scene to rescue patients trapped inside the hospital.

Dindigul District Collector MN Poongodi confirmed that all patients were successfully evacuated and transferred to nearby government and private hospitals for further treatment.

Speaking about the incident, Dindigul Superintendent of Police reported that six people had lost their lives, while efforts were ongoing to ensure the injured received immediate medical attention.
