Justice Minister Meets Chairman Of National Anti-Narcotics Authority

Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice, welcomed Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National Anti-Narcotics Authority, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in areas of shared interest.

Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad was briefed on the Ministry’s core responsibilities and its ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes both nationally and internationally.

The discussions also addressed existing national legislation on drug control, along with statistics concerning drug cases and adjudication rates.

Additionally, the meeting underscored the Ministry’s role in international judicial cooperation, particularly in handling drug-related cases and the extradition of offenders, as well as the contribution of the Judicial Training Institute in developing specialised legal and judicial professionals.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured the Abu Dhabi Federal Courts building, where they were introduced to courtroom management practices and the advanced technologies used in the remote litigation system.
