Dubai is gearing up for its grandest Filipino community event of the year—Kalayaan 2025—set to take place on Sunday, June 1, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This celebration marks the 127th Philippine Independence Day and is expected to draw over 25,000 attendees from across the UAE.
A Day of Culture, Unity, and Pride
Organized by Emirates Loves Philippines, Infinite Communities, and The Filipino Channel (TFC), Kalayaan 2025 promises a vibrant showcase of Filipino heritage. From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Halls 1 and 2 will feature live music, cultural performances, traditional food stalls, and community exhibits. Attendees can also look forward to games, raffle draws, and activities suitable for all ages.
“We will honor our rich culture, showcase our talents, and celebrate the spirit of being Filipino,” said Marford Angeles, Philippine Consul General of Dubai and the Northern Emirates. He emphasized that the event is “a powerful tribute to the strength, spirit, and stories of overseas Filipinos.”
Star-Studded Lineup
Adding to the festivities, four prominent Filipino entertainers will perform live:
- Julia Barretto: Award-winning actress known for her roles in Vince and Kath and James and Love You to the Stars and Back
- MJ Cayabyab: Versatile performer acclaimed for his singing, dancing, and hosting talents
- Kaisha Montinola: At 17, she has already earned accolades as an Inspiring Female TV Personality and is recognized as Cebu’s Singing Sensation
- Jarren Garcia: Dubbed the “Charming Crooner ng London,” he gained fame from The Voice Kids UK and Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11
These artists are set to deliver performances that celebrate Filipino talent and entertainment.
Admission Details
Entry to Kalayaan 2025 is free. Attendees are encouraged to wear traditional Filipino attire or the colors of the Philippine flag to express national pride.
