Kia has added two more accolades to its growing list of honors, with the Kia EV3 named Best Electric Small SUV and the Kia Sportage awarded Best Used Hybrid Family SUV at the 2025 What Car? Electric Car Awards.
The recognition builds on earlier wins at the 2025 What Car? Awards were presented in January, with the EV3 and Sportage recognized as the Best Small Electric SUV and Best Family SUV, respectively.
Paul Philpott, President & CEO of Kia UK, said the double victory reinforces the strong market reception for both models, noting that “What Car?’s reputation as an independent, influential and respected publication makes these awards even more meaningful.”
The EV3 has quickly become Kia’s fastest-selling electric model, as well as the UK’s best-selling EV in the retail market in 2025. Editors praised its comfort, quiet drive, and competitive range, positioning it as an excellent value for consumers.
Already named both UK Car of the Year and World Car of the Year for 2025, the EV3 continues the success of Kia’s electrified line-up, following the EV9’s sweep of the same titles in 2024.
Meanwhile, the Sportage, Kia’s global best-seller, remains the UK’s most popular family SUV and second best-selling car overall in 2025. Judges highlighted the appeal of its plug-in hybrid variant, which delivers a 43-mile WLTP electric range, spacious interior, and strong warranty coverage. The model has recently undergone a mid-life update with a refreshed design and new technologies drawn from Kia’s EV range.
With its expanding EV portfolio and consistent recognition from industry leaders, Kia continues to consolidate its position as one of the key players in the global shift toward electrification.
