Mexico has a new Miss Universe 2025, and her name is Fatima Bosch. The 25-year-old humanitarian and fashion aficionado was crowned the same at the 74th edition of the pageant, held in Thailand on Friday. Receiving the crown from last year’s winner, Denmark’s Victoria Kjær Theilvig, Bosch made history as the first woman from Tabasco to win the prestigious title, marking a proud moment for her hometown of Santiago de Teapa.

Bosch’s triumph was celebrated globally, with fans applauding not only her beauty and poise but also her resilience. Earlier in the pageant, a widely shared incident saw her publicly reprimanded by Thai pageant director Nawat Itsaragrisil during a live-streamed meeting, which prompted a temporary walkout by contestants.

Yet, Bosch’s calm and composed response won admiration worldwide, making her a fan favorite. Thailand’s Praveenar Singh claimed the first runner-up spot, while Venezuela’s Stephany Abasali, the Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo, and Olivia Yacé of the Ivory Coast rounded out the top five.

Bosch’s path to the crown is as inspiring as her victory itself. As per reports, she began her pageantry journey in 2018, winning Tabasco’s prestigious Flor de Oro crown. Her academic pursuits reflect her creative flair, with studies in fashion design at Mexico’s Universidad Iberoamericana, followed by further education at Milan’s Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti and Vermont’s Lyndon Institute.

More so, beyond her accomplishments, Bosch has openly discussed her personal challenges, revealing that she overcame struggles with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and dyslexia during her school years. These experiences have shaped her into a determined and empathetic individual, ready to use her platform to advocate for inclusivity and self-belief.

Speaking about her win, Bosch expressed her emotions in a heartfelt note: “I feel super excited, filled with emotions, with nostalgia, with all the work and everything that was experienced in these weeks of concentration. I knew that in that band, in Mexico, I was coming out; I had to come out strong to represent all the women who believed in me and all the people who gave their love and support. It was no longer just about coming out for myself, but for all those people who deserve to have a voice and be heard. This is a dream; I think I’m going to process it tomorrow, because right now I’m just enjoying it.”

She also addressed young girls inspired by her journey, “To all those little Latin girls who are inspired tonight by my story, I would tell them to always believe in themselves, in the beauty of their soul, their voice, and what they are capable of achieving. Never let anyone make them doubt their worth. If a dream reached their heart, it’s because they have the capacity to achieve it. The path won’t be easy, there will be obstacles, but if they work hard, they will achieve it. I send all of you my love and lots of good vibes.”

As the world celebrates Fatima Bosch’s crowning moment, all eyes are now turning toward Miss Universe 2026, which will mark the pageant’s 75th Diamond Anniversary in Puerto Rico at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum. For now, Bosch basks in the glory of her historic win, a triumph that represents perseverance, courage, and the power of believing in oneself.
