The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has held an interactive workshop as part of its Future Skills series, bringing together 24 students from federal and private universities across the UAE.
The workshop was designed to help students explore future skill requirements and better connect their academic choices with career opportunities in priority sectors.
The Future Skills workshop series aims to strengthen students’ preparedness for labour market demands, increase awareness of rapid changes in job roles and required skill sets, and enable students to make well-informed academic and career decisions based on a clearer understanding of national economic needs.
The most recent session focused on helping participants identify key skills linked to various academic disciplines, while supporting them in mapping their educational and professional pathways. This contributes to improved alignment between higher education outcomes and both current and future labour market requirements.
The Future Skills series is part of a participatory approach adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which emphasises collaboration with students and higher education institutions to build a more integrated and flexible education ecosystem. The initiative seeks to equip graduates with relevant skills that meet labour market needs and support the UAE’s wider development goals.
